During my time at Nagaprint & Packaging, I had the opportunity to design and animate 4 GIF Stickers for Lunar New Year 2023. In line with this year's zodiac, the Rabbit, Hong Leong Finance wanted each sticker to represent an important day in the 15 day long Lunar New Year using these adorable rabbits.
除夕快乐 (chu xi kuai le) Happy Eve of Chinese New Year
除夕（chu xi）also known as the eve of the first day of Chinese New Year, is often celebrated with family and close friends, usually over a meal we call "Reunion Dinner". Reunion Dinner comes in many forms! Whether it is fancy dinner or hotpot at a restaurant or home cooked food, reunion dinner is an important and significant day in the Lunar calendar.
Reunion directly translates to 团圆 which means "gathering around family". It is significant as it is when the entire family gathers to conclude the year together before starting a new beginning.
恭贺新禧 (gong he xin xi) Happy New Year!
The first day of Lunar New Year usually comprises of quite a few traditions, one of which includes inviting Lion Dancers to a household or a business to usher in good luck and fortune! It's performances can also be seen at local festivities and events during the new year.
Coupled with loud drums and symbals, lions dances are said to scare away evil spirits and bring in good luck.
人日快乐 (ren ri kuai le) Renri
The seventh day of Chinese New Year is traditionally known as 人日 (Renri in hanyu pinyin). According to Chinese customs, Renri was the day human beings were created and as such, the day is dedicated to celebrate everyone's birthday.

元宵节快乐 (yuan xiao jie kuai le) Happy Lantern Festival
元宵节 is a Lantern Festival traditional held on the 15th (last) day of the Lunar New Year. 汤圆 tang yuan, is typically eaten on this day as it symbolises togetherness and completeness. Derived from the word "圆“ yuan in 汤圆 tang yuan, which means a "round" (complete circle).
